Retro Survivors-like game
Exiled Survivors is a premium action game developed by Montpellier Games. It is a 2D roguelike featuring retro pixel graphics and a fun pick-up-and-play approach to gameplay. In it, players will take on waves of enemies of ever-increasing numbers and survive until the end of each stage.
Taking inspiration from Vampire Survivors, this Exiled Survivors demo boasts simple yet engaging gameplay with simple controls, making it ideal even for beginners. The game also takes cues from classic games like Diablo II for its character design and RPG-like progression system that help make the experience more immersive and rewarding.
Exiled warriors
Vampire Survivors is one the biggest sleeper hits in recent years and took gamers by surprise with its unassuming graphics and deceptively basic gameplay. Since then, many games have been trying to replicate the experience that the now cult classic was offering while introducing some twist of their own to help make them stand out, and Exiled Survivors is one of them.
Exiled Survivors plays out much like the game it's trying to emulate, with intuitive controls and easy-to-learn gameplay. There are currently 30 characters to unlock with unique traits and abilities. You still get the same roguelike elements as random skills and bonuses each time you level up, but they take a more RPG-like approach with a proper skill tree to invest points in.
The game was also designed with pick-up-and-play in mind, with a normal run lasting anywhere from 15-20 minutes, making it great for players who want something fun yet short. That said, its strength, the RPG-like skill, also becomes its weakness as it can be a bit confusing to navigate through at the beginning. You'll get the hang of it as you play more, though.
A decent Survivors-like
All in all, if you like Vampire Survivors and are looking new to play that offers a similar experience, then Exiled Survivors is a game you can check out. Its gameplay feels quite familiar, while the many heroes and skills available keep things fun and varied. You do need to learn it at that start, but it's worth it.
